Ingoldmells has one of the busiest concentrations of holiday caravan parks on the Lincolnshire coast. For an owner who wants to sell, that is both helpful and confusing. Helpful, because there is a steady market for caravans here. Confusing, because the rules that decide how you can sell are set park by park, and two caravans a few hundred yards apart can face completely different terms.
This guide covers what Ingoldmells owners most need to check, especially around licences, age limits and private sales, and what you can do if your caravan is getting older.
Quick answers
- Is there one set of rules for Ingoldmells? No. Each operator, and sometimes each park, has its own licence terms. Your written agreement is what counts.
- Can I sell privately on site? Possibly. Your park may need to approve the buyer or issue a new licence, depending on your agreement and the park's rules. Some restrict private sales or on-park advertising.
- What are the age limits? They vary. Published or reported examples on Ingoldmells parks range from 22 years to 30 years, and one major operator says it has no age limit.
- My caravan is near the limit. Is it worthless? Not usually. It may still sell off park, for UK resiting or export.
- Can Static Caravan Buyer help? We offer a free, no obligation valuation and help with the park paperwork. We cannot promise to buy every caravan.

If you are not sure who your operator is, look at the name on your last pitch fee invoice or licence agreement.
Why your licence matters more than the caravan
In Ingoldmells, a buyer who wants to keep a caravan on its pitch is effectively buying two things: the caravan and the right to keep it there. That right comes from your licence agreement with the park, not from the caravan itself. Our guide on selling a static caravan with its pitch licence explains this in more detail.
So before you set a price or list the caravan, find your agreement and look for:
- how long the licence runs, or how many more seasons the park will renew it;
- whether the licence can be transferred to a buyer, and on what conditions;
- any transfer fee or commission on sales;
- any age limit, and whether it is counted from the date of manufacture or from first siting;
- what happens to fees you have paid if the caravan leaves.
If your agreement does not answer these points clearly, ask the park in writing.
Age limits on Ingoldmells parks
This is where Ingoldmells owners see the biggest differences. As checked on 10 October 2026:
| Operator | What is published or reported | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| Laver Leisure | Homes must come off after 30 years from new; 25 years on Beechways, The Bay on Golden Sands, Majestic, Haven and The Wolds | Laver FAQ, checked 10 Oct 2026 |
| Fantasy Island | 22-year age limit from 1 March 2022 | Lincolnshire Live report, 14 Sep 2020 |
| Kingfisher | Initial licence 15 years from new, then a further 10 annual licences | Kingfisher sales page, checked 10 Oct 2026 |
| Blue Anchor Leisure | Says it does not impose age limits, but licence transfers not permitted for 2001 and older caravans | Blog post 30 Apr 2025; park rules (0124) |
Two cautions. First, some of these are older reports, and policies change, so treat them as a prompt to check, not as the final word. Second, an age limit for staying on the park is not the same as a restriction on selling to a new owner on the pitch. A park may let you keep an older caravan yourself but not transfer it. Our age limits explainer covers how these rules usually work.
Your options when you sell
Through the park
Several Ingoldmells operators have their own sales teams, and some offer part exchange against a newer holiday home. Fantasy Island's FAQ says it accepts part exchange of any holiday home or tourer, and Blue Anchor Leisure runs a part exchange programme open to owners on its own and other parks. Part exchange can work well if you want to stay. Ask how your caravan has been valued and whether the figure is affected by the price of the new one.
Privately, staying on the pitch
This route can achieve the best price if your caravan has plenty of licence time left. Expect the park to vet and approve the buyer, inspect the caravan and pitch, and possibly charge a fee. Some parks do not allow for sale signs. If the park will not allow a private sale, see what to do when a park refuses a private sale.
Off park
If the caravan is leaving the park, because of age, a change of plans or simply because you want a quick and clean sale, you can sell it to a buyer who will remove it. That is where Static Caravan Buyer comes in. We give a free valuation with no obligation, help with the park paperwork and arrange collection. Payment is made on collection day before the caravan is loaded, and we charge no commission when we purchase the caravan.
Older caravans still have value
A caravan that cannot stay on its pitch much longer may still be in demand elsewhere. Suitable caravans may be rehomed in the UK or through European export markets. Condition matters, and issues like damp will affect the figure, but they rarely make a caravan worthless on their own.
Removal and access in Ingoldmells
Ingoldmells parks are often tightly packed. Before collection day, think about:
- how the caravan will reach the park road, especially if it sits behind other units;
- soft ground after rain, which can delay a move;
- whether the park requires its own staff or approved contractors to disconnect gas, electricity, water and drainage, and whether that is charged;
- whether decking, skirting or steps need removing first;
- busy summer traffic on the A52 and Sea Lane, and any park rules on when vehicles can move caravans.
When we buy a caravan, we arrange the collection and talk to the park about access.
Pitch fees and timing
Pitch fees are usually invoiced ahead for the season. If you plan to sell, it helps to start before the new invoice arrives. If you already owe fees, our guide on selling when you still owe pitch fees explains how that is normally handled.
Questions to ask your Ingoldmells park
- Is my licence transferable to a buyer, and what are the conditions?
- What is the transfer fee or commission, if any?
- How many more seasons can my caravan stay, given its year of manufacture?
- Will you buy it or offer a part exchange, and how is the value worked out?
- Who must disconnect the caravan, and what does that cost?
- Are any fees refundable if it leaves part way through the season?
FAQs
Are the rules the same on every Ingoldmells park? No. Rules are set by each operator and sometimes vary between parks run by the same company. Check your own licence agreement.
Can I sell my caravan if it is over the park's age limit? Potentially, subject to your licence agreement and the park's removal and access requirements. Whether a new owner could keep it on the pitch is a matter for the park. If Static Caravan Buyer agrees a purchase, we arrange collection and work with the park on access and paperwork.
Does Static Caravan Buyer buy caravans on any Ingoldmells park? We buy static caravans and lodges across the UK, including on parks in Ingoldmells, subject to our valuation. We cannot promise to buy every caravan.
How quickly will I hear back? We normally aim to contact customers within 24 hours and aim to provide an offer within 48 hours after contact. These are aims, not guarantees.
